  • How do I UC transfer program?

I'm planning on applying to University of California for 2013-14. If I don't get in, I want to transfer to it from a community college. To do this, do I apply to USC and the community college at the same time?

Let's say I do that, and I get accepted to USC, eliminating the need to attend a community college to transfer to USC. At this point, do I need to do anything to my enrollment with the community college? (since it is open admission)

  • Windows 7 Boot Disc, can read from it but can't boot from it.?

I'm trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit onto my OEM Windows XP Home 32 bit desktop in a seperate partition in a second harddrive in the computer that Windows XP was not installed on. I got the .iso image for Windows 7, and i burn it onto a DVD+R disc and made it bootable with my laptop using PowerISO. I put the disc into my desktop's dvd rw drive, set the boot order so that it boots the dvd drive first, and then let it boot. After POSTing, the flashing underscore appears, and i could see that the dvd drive is trying to read the Windows 7 boot disk, but after a few hours, nothing happened. I then booted my desktop normally and tried to see if i could access the disc, and i could.

I take the dvd and try booting it in my laptop, but the same thing: Flashing underscore for hours. I boot my laptop normally and insert the dvd in to see if it can read, and it could.

Afterwards, i burned Windows 7 onto a DVD-RW disc, made it bootable, and tried to see if it would work this time. When i inserted the dvd into the desktop, i came to a conclusion that it can't read it since it left my computer frozen until i removed the dvd. I tried to boot with it, but i was left with the flashing underscore and sounds from the dvd drive that sounds like its doing something repeatably .

I take the dvd to my laptop. It could read it, but still could not boot from it. So, i need some help to identify the problem and how to install this on my desktop.

  • Need someone to diagnose a video card problem?

I bought a HD 4670 1GB several months ago, and its great when it doesnt a) VPU Recover b) Freeze, forcing manual shutdown. It has VPU Recovered occasionally, only when i play graphic intensive games (GTA IV) , though the frequency of it depends on the HD 4670's mood (Very random, very frusturating). Well recently, i started playing APB Reloaded (google it), runs pretty good, with the usual fps drops during close range fx. But this game in particular somehow causes more VPU Resets IN A DAY then the amount i get in a few months. Maybe it just doesnt like it, but anyway, i need help figuring out how to stop these VPU Recovers.

    I have Windows XP 32-bit SP3

    Antec Earthwatts 380w continuous power ( +12V = 17amp +12V2 = 15amp =12V = 0.8amp)

    HIS ICEQ HD Radeon 4670 1GB GDDR3

    Latest video drivers and CCC.

Now i know this is either a graphics card or power supply problem, i just dont know which one.

Is the video card faulty? Is the power supply not outputting enough on the 12V rails?

  • Identifying left and right earbuds?

So i just got a new pair of Skullcandy In-ear earbuds, but this series of earbuds doesn't have the left and right stamped on the buds, so how do i figure it out?

Another thing that bothered me was that when i tried to test it by taking an audio editor, panning the left and right sound slider for a stereo song doesn't make a difference other than slightly decreased volume. Is this because both buds are stereo?

  • LCD Monitor turned very dark?

My LCD Monitor for my pc was working just fine, then suddenly the screen turned all black, but when i look closely, i could just barely see my desktop. I tried unpluging the power cables for the monitor but no good. When i press the menu button on the monitor, its just as dark as the desktop, so i know its not a problem with my computer (right?). Is there any way to fix it without buying a new one?

  • Is there a name for this?

I don't like looking people in the eyes or looking in their direction when somebodies talking to me, mainly with my parents, relatives, etc. I have no problem with talking to my friends since i can openly laugh to them. But when talking prolonged conversations with said people, i tend to look at something blankly, or do something else.

  • Makeshift mouse pad help?

I have a wired optical mouse and it frequently:

Twitches to side of screen on its own

Becomes unresponsive for several seconds or until you shake it up

Moves on it's own very slowly and consistently when not even being used(rarely)

^^^^^ does all that mostly when having high rates and frequency of movement( like in a game...in if it twitches to the side of the screen while playing a fps the screen spins out crazily)

So i isolated my problem as the texture of the wooden desk that is causing this. I don't have any mouse pads, any house hold item i can use to substitute for one?And don't say paper, it don't work

  • Sitting on sidewalk =boom?

So me and my parents went out for a jog around a park. After i ran 2 laps i squat down on the sidewalk, then my dad said: Don't sit on the sidewalk, you'll make the gas pipes explode. I mean, sure that's possible in the RIGHT circumstances, but... you see what i mean?

The concrete/cement sidewalk and a bunch of dirt is over the

supposed pipes if they are there, and the pipes must be strong

enough, or else they wouldn't use it. Then they said, Don't they

teach you this in school? Yeah.... By the way, they're oriental

chinese. I just wanted to get this thought out.
