  • How can i fix Kimchi that is too spicy?

I made some kimchi but fudged the recipe a bit. Now it is BLAZING hot - so much so that I can barely stand to eat it! How can I fix it??

  • How can I make a bread product that looks like a small spine?

My son is having a Halloween theme for his 5th birthday party. He has requested "weak spines" as an accompaniment to our eyeball meatballs. My idea was to make breadsticks out of pizza dough by cutting off small pieces, rolling into "worms" and squeezing them in my fist to make them bumpy/boney looking. This was epic fail. I also tried just rolling them out and scoring them across with a knife to give the look of bone segments and that was also a fail. PLEASE HELP!!

  • How can I deal with this tattoo?

I very recently got a new, large, important tattoo. A friend and I designed it to honor my son. At first I was so happy with it but now that it's mostly healed I'm noticing LOTS of problems! There are several places where he colored out of the lines or extended lines out into nowhere. He didn't color it how it was originally colored and while I didn't mind at first (I'm sure if you're tattooed you know the euphoria that comes afterwards!), I'm starting to really not like what he did on parts of it. Obviously there is nothing I can do about the crazy errant lines (other than removal and I'm not even considering that!) but is it out of line for me ask the he fix the things that can be fixed without cost to me? It's on my chest so it's VERY visible, and even if I were to keep it covered it's still very upsetting since this is for my son and was 3yrs in the works! Anyway, any advice would be appreciated! Especially from other tattoo artists or people who have been in a similar sit.

  • What suggestions do you have for a fun but low key 30th birthday party?

I will be turning 30 next month and have requested that my husband throw me a party. While he's happy to do so, he's also lacking for activities. We have a 3yo who will be in attendance as well as my family and a VERY mixed bag of friends (current/former coworkers, friends from college, friends I haven't seen in ages). I don't mind a moderate amount of drinking but don't want to expose my son to anything too crazy! We are trying to get by on the cheap with this one and it will be at our apartment. Approx. 10 guests of varying ages and interests. I was thinking of having someone bring karaoke revolution (a video game) and maybe guitar hero. I also kind of want a kinda kid-themed party since this is truly the end of my youth! ;-)

  • How do I counteract too much oil in my Hummus?

I made some black bean hummus today and added WAY too much olive oil. It almost tastes like mayonaise now! Blech! I tried adding hot sauce, more lemon juice, more salt and some salsa and non of that helped. Without adding another can of beans (I REALLY don't need that much of the stuff!) how can I fix it?!?

  • What's the best size/shape pleats for a crinoline?

I am making a short net 80's style crinoline for a work function. I have 2 colors and weights of netting and would like to make several layers without huge buildup of stitches since that part will be at my hips and lord knows I don't need any extra padding there! I'd really like to layer it all together and pleat it all at once. I'm working on limited time and average sewing skill. I really just need to know what the best width and shape of pleat will work best!
