Are police officers able to, when off-duty, collect DNA from a crime scene as well as suspects for the use of a criminal investigation? I am asking in a scenario where off duty police hear a fracas and find a man dead. They quickly collect samples from the suspects and the crime scene itself. The scenario does not specify if they called for on-duty officers, or if they identified themselves; this isn't even the premise of the lab we did; it was about DNA fingerprinting.

I remember a film from the mid 90s where two guys are trying to get into the Playboy Mansion and get into wacky antics in the process. I think they won a contest or something but they lived far away. They are being chased by the police at one point and hide in a sewer pipe. They try to break into a studio, and one of them tells of a crazy party, and makes a reference to oral sex. There is a scene where they are in the grotto of the Mansion and are swimming. That was toward the end.

I saw a film, perhaps 5 years ago. It was about an old lady perhaps a witch or something, that lived near a precipice of a cliff at the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean. It had to do with a kid going in the house, where there were candles everywhere: the floor the bed, the walls the tables. He sees the candles and I think the body was on the bed, and he ran out of the house when some of the candles were falling. The house (shack, really) starts to burn and he runs out of the house. He nearly falls of the cliff into the water but is saved.

I think the film started with the kid being bullied and locked inside of the schoolhouse's coatroom overnight and him looking at the cemetery, and a ghost of a girl came into the coatroom with him. If I am not mistaken, it was a British film from the late 80s or early 90s.

I can't think of the title of a film where a cop, or a detective or someone finally gets this criminal, and the criminal engages in a shootout in a cabin or small home near some body of water. The cop is a famous actor, I can't be certain, but I picture James Caan or Jerry Orbach when I think back. Eventually, said cop is shot, and walks out of the house, the gunman finally dead, then falls on his knees and finally dies a short distance from the door of the building.

I am thinking of a film. I think it was in the Predator or Alien series. There is a group of scientists in a foreign land, perhaps a rainforest or tropical location. They end up on the coast of somewhere and run through the jungle. Creatures are spotted, possibly extraterrestrial. The beginning features a house in this tropical area where they spot a creature through equipment they have and they have to protect themselves around the house. Towards the middle, they have to trod across a river with extra-terrestrial creatures behind them. They are at a cliffside, where they have a helicopter that was in need of repair. At the last minute, they and the chopper fly off, and the creature or creatures get ever so close to the chopper but fail to get it. The creatures duel.

The other movie I can't remember had a base around the Golden Fleece. They are trying to locate it and find it on a tree next to a steep cliff. They nearly lose it but manage to capture it.

All of the movies are between 1995-2006.

I am having a problem figuring out what movie I am thinking of. I just saw it not two or three years ago. It was a fairly recent flick too, perhaps dating to 1997 to 2005. I cannot tell you who stars in it, but it about a team in Antarctica, where a shape-shifting parasite takes on the forms of those who work there. Towards the end, there are four or so people left ,and they are in a hole or small area when one of the men starts to talk, and it was not his voice (i.e. it was the parasite). And it cuts there. It sounds like the Thing (1982) but it was more recent, and I don't remember Wilford Brimley or the ending I am thinking of in the movie I saw. Perhaps a smallbudget remake, or a crappy ripoff of The Thing?

If you are ever in a bathroom, or small quiet room and there is no noise outside or inside, the silence is almost deafening. If you understand what I mean, you will get what I say. Complete silence is almost 'loud' in a sense. If that makes sense to you, please comment on this. Thanks!

I can't remember the artist or title of a sax song similar to 'You Belong to the City' by Glenn Frey. It has a short but high sax line when the singer asks the refrain that is something like 'How will it be now? And the sax follows with the same # of syllables with da da da doo dah doo. Can anyone tell me what this song is?

Is there a way to fill a map by terrain with 'water' to see the effects of flooding (locations). I would like to find out if it is possible for my area to flood; I live in a valley.
