  • Which verse is correct?

Read the following verses in Acts 18:14-17 in the NIV and KJV. Pay attention to verse 16.

16because the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them; they had simply been baptized intoc the name of the Lord Jesus. - (NIV)

16(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) - (KJV)

Now read Acts 19:1-6 (which verse is more accurate?)

    How important is the name of Jesus? Acts 5:40, Acts 16:18, 1 Corinthians 1:2, Acts 2:38, Acts 10:48, Acts 19:5, Acts 8:16, Acts 8:12, Acts 10:47, Acts 2:38, Philippians 2:10, Acts 4:12, Acts 3:6, Acts 3:16, Colossians 3:17, 2 Thessalonians 1:12, 1 Kings 5:5, Joel 2:32, Jeremiah 44:26, 1 Corinthians 5:4, 2 Thessalonians 3:6, Ephesians 5:20...

  • Doesn't seem fair to me?

If a Muslim man were to rape a Muslim

woman, the man’s word would count twice as

much as the woman’s. The word of a non-

Muslim does not count at all in a court of law

against a Muslim. Muslim man rapes a non-

Muslim woman, even if a second non-Muslim

woman is present, his word (that he did not do

it) would count equal to the word of both of

    them.

  • Choices and Life Scenarios?

Out of all the challenges in the world, isn't loving your enemies, one of the most difficult things to do?

Although it is good, it is not always the logical choice.

It requires giving things of myself to someone who is undeserving

Also for all my hard-work, I may never receive anything positive out of this relationship

Should I just continue to love my enemies, just in the hopes that maybe just one person will love me back? When I ask this question, I am thinking about my own family who are generally very selfish and greedy peeps. What I want to know is, what are some of the scenarios you have been in that required you to:

    trust someone that was untrustworthy

give to someone who was stingy with you

lend to someone who you knew probably wouldn't return the item

forgive someone who did not ask for it

was kind to someone who was cruel to you

  • Question regarding charitable organizations...?

Different charity organizations are sending me letters saying "your nickels could help save a life" and then they have two nickels taped or glued to the paper. To me this doesn't make any sense why an organization would do this. If these nickels are so crucial, then why are they sending them to me? Is this some kind of marketing tactic, because it doesn't make any sense to me?
