  • I need help with paying for school...ASAP?

I've been fretting for the past couple days with trying to get help for paying with college. On July 29th I was billed $8200 for the fall semester of college...now it has to be paid by the 17th. Now I was awarded $3200 in loans from FAFSA (one subsidized stafford loan & one unsubsidized stafford loan). I've been applying for private loans through places like Sallie Mae etc only to be shot down...even with a cosigner such as other family & my parents. Now back in 2009 my parents filed for bankruptcy and inturn I'm getting screwed with them. I've tried to do a parent Plus loan only to be shot down due there bankruptcy. Now today I went down to the financial office at my college to talk about what I can do. They told me that since we were denied the Plus loan that I'd be eligible to get an additional $4000 in loans from the government...roughly $2000 per semester which leaves me having to cover $3000 in remaing balances. Considering how I've had crap luck with applying for private loans its like how can I even remotely getting the $3000 I need to cover? Aside from scholarships or dropping to part-time it just seems like I'm going to screwed. So can anyone try to help me out with a reasonable answer because ill be damned if this screws my chance of getting a college education!!!!!

  • Retiring Jaromir Jagrs jersey?

Do you think the Pens will ever retire his number? Personally I think they should retire. I can remember as a kid during the 1990s watching Jagr tear it up on the ice for the Pens. His best days were when we he was with the Penguins eventhough he a good run with the Rangers. Now yes Jagr burned his bridges with the Pens back in 2001, by wanting a trade. Plus he also didn't get along with teammates and that dates back to the 2000 article "I'm Dying Alive". He reburned them in 2011 when he used the Pens for bargaining. The hatred that Jagr gets from us Penguin fans was brought onto him by his own self. So I would have no problem with seeing the Pens retire his number someday. So what are your thoughts on it

    As always LETS GO PENS

  • Why does it suck being a college transfer?

So I transferred from my local community college to a major college for this current semester and its been rough somewhat. Ill start off by saying that I'm somewhat homesick but not really. I've enjoyed being here thus far but it's like why is it rough for most college transfers in general. I say that because I don't really have a lot of friends yet and I somewhat know the region. My one friend who goes here with me says that it's rough being a transfer because you miss so much stuff from fall with freshmen and new student stuff etc. It wouldn't be so bad if I had more friends but that's a work in progress. The one irritating part is having to sit by myself when I go to the food court. I feel awkward eating by myself simply because your in an open area that's larger than say a fast food joint. So why is it rough being a transfer

  • Should I go see TNA Impact? I need your advice?

so on April 25th Impact will be coming to my college, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, for a live show. Now Ive been to 3 wwe shows since 2001 and ive seen a couple local indy shows but with TNA coming to town should I really bother on going to it? Whats the atmosphere like at a TNA show vs. a WWE show? It also doesn't help that I don't really watch TNA either. So would it be worthy of blowing the money to go see it?

  • I'm 19 years old and I've never had a girlfriend?

I'm a 19 year old sophomore in college and I've never had a girlfriend sadly. I always wanted a girlfriend but I've always had bad luck. I've been screwed over by friends back in high school and I've come close with a girl only to get my heartbroken badly. It's like no matter what I do my luck never changes. I'm a very happy person with my life currently and I've not once let hold me back. But not ever having a girlfriend is something that burns inside me. It's like getting fired from your job for some stupid reason and having it leave a bad taste in your mouth. That's the feeling I get. I'm a hardworking/very goal orientated person who likes to hunt/fish and chill with friends. I'm a very good looking guy but a almost a guy with bad luck. It's like will my luck ever change....I usually catch girls checking me out but to of nothing else. So will my luck ever change someday? It frustrates me but I don't let it stop me from my holding my up high and proud everyday smiling as I set forth on the day.

  • Chinese knockoff jerseys rant?

why do you buy knockoffs? is it because theyre cheap? I think knockoff jerseys are a disgrace personally. now yes I do own three knockoffs jerseys and I must say that they are junk. When buying a knockoff jersey expect this:

    1) the jersey wont fit properly~arms either too long or too short or wide collar

    2) crappy stitching

    3) different colors that don't match ex two shades of red

    4) poor quality

    5) long delivery period

    6) US Government seizes the site ex Borntrade

I refuse to buy knockoff jersey for those reasons. the last time I bought a knockoff was October 2010 and the last real jersey I bought was a 1997-1998 Darius Kasparaitis Starter Authentic Jersey. so give me your thoughts on knockoff jerseys

  • Starter vs CCM jersey sizing questions?

I'm looking to buy a 92-93 Mario Lemieux CCM Ultrafil jersey but I don't know if it will fit the same as my starter jersey. Currently I own a 97-98 Darius Kasparaitis Starter authentic jersey that is a size 52. Now will a size 52 CCM Ultrafil jersey fit the same as a Starter 52 nhl jersey?

  • Help with paying for college?

Where can I find scholarships and grants at college. I need a loan of about $4000 to pay for the rest of school. I prefer getting scholarships before taking out a loan. I've never had to deal with loans before because for the past year a half I've gotten a Pell grant for community college. Now that I'm transferring to a university for college I need loans. I haven't a clue on where to go for loans. The only I know is that you should only do private loans as a last resort. So can anybody help me with finding loans.

School is costing me around $11000for spring

$5500 is being paid for by a stafford loan

$1000 is for college fees which will be out of pocket

$500 is for books which is out of pocket

$4000, which is the rest, needs to be paid for by a loan or scholarship (if I even win a scholarship)

  • Can college change luck with girls?

Back in high school I had some of the worst luck with girls. I was either screwed by friends or by the girl herself. For the past year and a half I've gone to a community college and haven't done much in terms of getting a girlfriend. I came close back in April to getting with this one girl but she happened to break my heart pretty bad. Now that I'm transferring from community college to an actual college I was wondering if college can help change my horrid luck. I've never had a girlfriend in my 19 years alive and aside from not having a girlfriend I would say that I'm pretty happy with my life! So can college help change my luck with girls

  • How to get a MacBook Pro for college?

I need to get a laptop for College because I'm transferring out of community to an ACTUAL school. Currently I use the family laptop for school work but I can't take that to school because my sister still needs it for high school. I've looked at Windows 8 laptops and I absolutely hate it. Preferably I don't want a Laptop with windows because me and windows don't get along at all!! So is there any way I can possibly get a MacBook using a loan or scholarship?

I'm not using a laptop from the school because I need my own laptop for personal use as well

  • Why do you sag your pants?

For the record I do let my pants sag but only about an inch of my boxers actually show. What I don't get is how both white and black people let there whole a$$ show! No one in this world wants to see your a$$ hanging while you walk like you have something stuck up there. Then people like to say oh well "I'm so gangster" when last I checked the real gangsters are of back in the days like the 40s and 50s etc who actually dressed professional and were true gangbangers. I just hope that one day we don't become a society were we even sag our dress slacks etc. so what's your option of sagging?

  • Oil changing questions?

Which is better to use when removing the oil plug?? A wrench or a socket set?? I ask that because I'm changing my oil tomorrow before the steelers game and my dads tools don't have the wrench I need to remove the plug. He has plenty of sockets but a crappy selection of wrenches. So is it safe to use a socket?? I feel that with using a socket you have a greater chance of ruining the bolt versus using the rounded end of a wrench.

  • I somewhat ran a school bus today?? I need advice?

So today I stopped for the school bus t

o drop kids off. After all the kids crossed the street with their mom that dummy that I am decided to go foward. I was stopped basically in a 3 way (the bus created the 3 way if you get what I mean) now I honestly don't recall the bus having his lights on I could be wrong. The driver got out and yelled at me saying "I go after him and to back up." I listened and did what he said. Now the way I was stopped prevented him from seeing my plate or the camera if there's one on the arm I believe. Now since I live in PA I don't know what penalty ill even get since I somewhat didn't really run the bus technically. If you do run a bus in PA you get either $100 or $250 fine with 60 day suspension plus 5 points. This would be my first offense. Now would I get busted for something cause I'm positive I'm F***ED!! Had a kid been there I'd be behind bars basically! So does anyone know how long it takes to get a citation for running a school bus?? In PA?? I know for a fact that they have 30 days to file a citation of any sort in Pennaylvania. So can anybody help me out?

I've had a sickening feeling in my stomach since 1:30pm. I know about the "Don't pass until lights are out" but as I stated I don't recall seeing the lights or arm out when I proceeded.

  • I somewhat ran a school bus?

So today I stopped for a school bus to let kids off at the stop. After all the kids got off and walked across the street with their mom. I happen to proceed forward and by doing that the bus driver blew the horn at me. He opened the door to the bus and began yelling at me saying that I leave once he turns out the light. Well the lights were on but the door was shut. I said I was very sorry and that I was to back up which I did. I regret it because had their still been a kid over their I'd be screwed. Now I don't think that this bus had a camera on the outside because I use to the ride the same bus when going to high school two years ago. I feel like I'm screwed that I might be getting a citation/fine etc. I doubt the driver got my plate could be wrong. I live in Pennsylvania and the two moms witnessed it. So am I screwed because I'm pretty sure I am

  • Why is NHL so hard to scoring?

I'm having a hell of time trying to score on offense. I'm 2-6 in my GM mode and I'm on a current 3 game losing skid (I've been shutout twice). I like how the game feels more real but its impossible to create offense. It's like the computer plays the trap on me. What makes no sense is that computer can score on a simple shot but when I try the same thing it's like hitting a brick wall. Doesn't make any sense. Faceoffs are horrible in this game!!! Your lucky if you can win 5 a game let alone 1. The hitting has too many flaws in that you can knock a guy down and then watch him get right back up and skate with the puck. I'm playing on pro and I keep adjust sliders but with not much help. Anyone have any tips on how to score?? I play as the penguins....Go Pens!!

  • How to help pay for college fees etc?

Well my day was going great until I come home seeing my parents arguing over college fees. My dad was like "I'm not made of money." I was accepted into Indiana University of Pennsylvania for Pre-Pharmacy for spring. Currently I attend a community college for general studies. My mom has been fretting over student loans because in 2009 my parents filled for bankruptcy either chapter 7 or 13 (whichever one last for 10 years). She thinks that will screw me from getting loans. My mom actually cares about me going to school but dad could careless. I want out of community college so I can get going in life. Since fees are out of pocket cash my dad is basically annoyed that he has to pay $2400 for the fees (I took the max on any fees which had a range). Aside from that I'm constantly getting yelled out about not having money saved up for going away. My parents basically want me to not spend anything. I work at best buy and bring home roughly $400 every two weeks. My check gets eaten up by these reductions:

$120 for gas ($60 fills up my truck)

$75 for my cell phone or $110 for my car insurance (when there due cellphone is at beginning of the months & insurance is at end is at the end of month (i get two checks a month)

    $25 for savings

$180 left after phone or $145 after insurance

Now what's left gets me by each week and my parents basically want to limit what I spend which basically says "Hey Brett you can't have a social life anymore!" It makes me very mad in that I can't spend my OWN money without getting yelled. I have $125 in the savings so far and I've got 3 months left till IUP so there's plenty time to save cash plus I get my income tax in spring anyways. So it's like I can't do anything these days.

It makes me very mad that I'm probably going to get screwed by my parents with going away to college!!! They never went to college and I guess I'm not suppose to get far in life thanks to them!!!

So how can I pay for colleges fees and help save cash

  • How to cut open an oil filter?

I'm due to change my oil in the next 1000 miles. Now I've been running royal purple oil and their oil filter. Now I'm thinking about cutting up open the oil filter just to see how we'll it works and to also put it in YouTube since there's only one video of the royal purple oil filter cut open after its been used. I was wondering if a Dremel with a metal drilling bit would work at cutting through the filter. I know a reciprocating saw would work but I'd rather not use it. So would a Dremel work??

Ps: I don't have the money to go out and buy an oil filter cutter either.....money is tight when your in college lol

  • Is it worth it to become a pharmacist?

The six years of schooling and debt is what looks so depressing because I don't want to sit in school for 6 years. If anyone can help me I'd appreciate it.

  • People I need your help/opinion?

I'm currently attending a local community college for general studies and recently I just got accepted into Indiana University of Pennsylvania for Pre-Pharmacy. I'm having second thought on going for Pre-Pharmacy because I don't know if I want to go to school till I'm 25. I don't want to spend most of my 20s in school but its like if go for the 6 years then I know that I'll have a lot of success. I want a career in the medical field that pays well. So what should I do? What profession in the medical field is well worth it besides becoming a doctor or pharmacist

  • Looking for a new surround sound system?

Currently I have a surround sound system that dates back to 2002. It's an old system that works but its not super loud anymore due to wear and tear. It's not the greatest but it works for me. The major dislike I have about it is that it's not wireless. I want a system that's wireless but yet not too expensive/too cheap. The only real pro for me is that I work at Best Buy and can get a discount but I'm wanting a system that won't break me in the bank
