  • Angular speed question...? <repeat?

    A car is moving at a rate of 65 miles per hour, and the diameter of its wheels is 2.5 feet.

    (a) Find the number of revolutions per minute the wheels are rotating.

    (b) Find the angular speed of the wheels in radians per minute

    so..

    Speed=65mph

    D=2.5ft, r=1.25ft

    Then for the formulas..

    Linear speed=(arclength)/(time)

    Angular speed=(theta)/(time)

    Arclength=r(theta), theta=(Arclength)/r

    The answers for

    (a) 728.3 revolutions per minute

    (b) 4576 radians per minute

    I want to know how they got those because my answers come up very low compared to these.. and i'm using all of the formulas above, am i missing something?

    This is a repeated question because the answers i got, didn't even answer the question correctly, just implied the answer approached the answer's quantity, if so explain this, because i'm pretty stumped.

  • Difference between taste and bias in music...?

    Just wondering, ran into this question a while ago.. If you listen to a type of music from the beginning, let's say rock.. and you happen to like classical music, but like rock more because it is distorted, has more effects, more relaxed etc etc. So you run these two together, like let's say there is a Classical song and a Rock cover of it. You happen to like the cover more.. What would be the line between taste and bias? Just because you obviously like rock more, and generally like the cover better, does it really mean you are biased because your taste is more in rock music than classical. What is the defining line between these two?

  • The american pie mentality...?

    So some of my friends didn't get the good good while they were in high school. Now they keep whining about it. My other friends got the good good, and turned out ok, and you can normally hang out with them. I'm just wondering, this mentality is a constant pressure effect on them- why? i know some people don't do it from the get go, and turn out allright, but others just develop a complex disorder about it and constantly whine about how it sucks and that they want to do it because everybody else did. And then at some point, people start considering it into a pride form, etc etc. Is it just the weaker end of society that gets pressured into this or is it the universal mentality that cannot be avoided through those high school years?

  • Bill hicks quote about unity? Repeat>?

    "Today young men on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one conciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream in which we are the imagination of ourselves"

    I know he was a great comedian, but i'm sure he would want to take this quote seriously.

    As much as this brutally curbs a lot of the standardized terms used, I'm just wondering if this godlike image of an omnipresent sight concept has any connection to hinduism or buddhism. It seems very much like it roots to the string theory even. This is very insightful, a little stupid, but really smart at the same time, so tell me your thoughts on this.
