  • Kitty hurt her tail, what should I do...?

I occasionaly let my cat outside, but always keep an eye on her. She is around 10-11 months old. Today, while I was taking her in (holding her in my arms) I accidentally shut the door on the end of her tail. She was making a sort of "MROWOWOWOW" sound and scratched me up before running off. I was kind of in shock so I didn't have time to react until she was halfway upstairs.

I found her minutes later. She seemed slightly cautious of me and didn't make any sounds like she was in pain but I noticed her tail, which is usually held upright with the end flopping to the side was curled downward. It's difficult to explain, but basically the end of her tail was curled down an inch or so farther than usual, and it seemed a lot more limp. I tried to touch the tip of the tail (not the bend) and she bolted off silently under my mom's bed, where she's sleeping now.

When I did get up close to her before she went to sleep, I gave her some treats and a good petting and took a closer look at her tail. I can see it hurts her at least a little bit, but there is no extreme kink or bend, just a spot where it is a little limp. I realize cat's tails are an extension of their spines, but her injury is much farther down the tail. She holds it up and can move it around, but the tip is just droopier than usual. I will wait to see if she has trouble using the litterbox when she wakes up, but she isn't refusing food or meowing a lot. It's definitely hurt, but do I need to take her to the vet immediately (as in today), or can it wait for a few days as my car isn't functional?

  • Issues with flash player-- can't be fixed?

    Hello all.

I've been having issues with my Adobe Flash Player. Basically, I can only view certain videos. Youtube works fine, and so do Google Video and Vimeo. But if I go over to, for example, Metacafe, nothing will play at all. I tried going over to the Settings Manager on Adobe's website. So I clicked the little box next to "Allow third-party Flash content to store data on your computer," pretty much only because the troubleshooting guide told me so. But nothing happened. I clicked again, and no checkmark or anything. It's just permanently blank. When I click the box under it, it toggles it on and off, though. So there should be no reason why it isn't working. Can anyone help me?

  • Why won't my computer play certain videos?

I have only been able to watch videos from youtube and vimeo. Whenever I click a link that goes to, for example, dailymotion.com, the space where the video should be is just sort of-- empty. No black box or anything. Just space. I have the most recent flashplayer and java, so I'm not sure. Everything else is alright though. How can I fix this?

  • My kitten's having some litter-issues?

My 15 week old kitten had been fine with the litter as soon as we got her home. It's been about two weeks, and she is no longer crouching to urinate. She starts off in a sitting position but stretches out upright and ends up going on my desk :/ She's done this a couple times in the last few days. This time when I stopped her, I noticed some clear/brown mucousy liquid where she peed. She's been sneezing a lot, but that has been clearing up since we got it, and my vet infers she had an upper respiratory infection. Whats wrong, and how can I get her to stop?

  • Is it okay to feed my kitten tuna?

I just gave her about half a can of chunked tuna in water. She seems to love it. I know that tuna can be fattening and unhealthy in excess, so this will probably only be a small treat, along with her regular dry food. Is that okay, or should I still keep it away from her.

  • What's wrong with my new kitten (kennel cough)?

I recently adopted a 3 1/2 month old tortoiseshell kitten. I've had her for about 24 hours and as soon as I got her home, she began to sneeze and show bright yellow discharge from her eyes. I've been doing my best to clean away the mucous like substances from her eyes and nose safely, but she doesn't really like it. She is sneezing quite a bit, but is otherwise very active and rambunctious. She's taken to her food/water very quickly, and used her litter box as soon as I let her into my room. My question is should I take her to a vet soon?

Also, she is ignoring her sisal scratching post to rub her paws on the carpet . I don't want her to tear up my carpet, but her nails are cut and they aren't doing any damage as of yet. She also refuses to sleep in her bed and constantly jumps onto mine. Should I discourage this behavior? And how?

  • I think I'm developing a speech impediment?

I don't really know what it is. I'm a teenage female and I've started to develop a lisp as well as mixing up my words. On several occasions, I have stuttered as well. I don't know what's wrong. I'm normally a very good speaker, but I've been shying away

  • Can I used this kind of jewelry to stretch my earlobe (12-10g)?

Okay, so I may have had a teeny, tiny blowout. I'm not sure, and anyhow I think that was from when I first got my ears pierced when I was 8 but they got infected and I haven't worn them more than a day since . But anyway, I've been wearing the same tapers (with proper cleaning daily) for a month and a half now just to be safe. They're stretchy and healthy, now. I wanted to purchase this jewelry to move up from 12g to 10g:

    http://www.bodyartforms.com/productdetails.asp?key...

There are others I considered, but they're basically the same--only difference being material and color choice. So how about it? They have a sort of tapered end...and with a little lube I think it would work alright. Thoughts, comments, and suggestions welcome.

  • A pair of good quality, stylish headphones?

NOT LOOKING FOR EARBUDS D: They always fall out.

I know that Skullcandy's look nice and everything but how about a brand that doesn't lose sound in one ear after a couple of months? I don't want to pay like all my money and then have it break within a year. Going for the big ones, over ear, maybe slight noise cancellation but I know those costs monies. My budget is less than around $120USD; please and thank you.

  • Once again, a 35mm Film SLR?

Partly for Photography I, and partly because I've been aching for a camera so I can take shots over the summer. I got a Canon AE-1 from ebay. It was a pretty solid camera except upon inspection, it had Canon Cough or shutter squeal or what have you and the mirror foam was an oily mess. So I sent it back. Now, I'm willing to try again. I'm a fan of the old, fully manual dinosaurs and am especially interested in trying out a Minolta or Pentax but if there's a better brand, sent it my way. I would very much hope for DOF preview. Please and thank you :)

  • What present should we get for our student teacher?

His last day is Thursday and we were wondering what to get him. He's a pretty hip guy, but I wouldn't call him a hipster. College student, soon. He's a vegan and a pretty artistic guy that likes to write. Trying to keep this under like $30. Some suggestions we had already:

    -Set of Prismacolors

    -Moleskin notebook (that was mine)

    -Biodegradable notebook

    Please and thank you :)

  • Can I hook a turntable up to my guitar amp?

The amplifier has a Phono In port. Is it possible to connect a turntable to it? I'm willing to find/buy wires if that's the case.

  • Can someone help me remember this film?

I saw a trailer a while ago about a woman and her baby was a vampire of some sort. She kept saying that she "needs special food" and I remember it won some sort of film festival. In the trailer the baby's rocker, flies were flying toward it?

    Thankss

  • Dying black hair unnatural colors without bleaching?

I have curly (probably around 3c or 4a) hair that is quite porous. It's black but brown-ish in the sun and I was wondering if I were to dye it with a dark shade of blue Manic Panic or Special Effects and leave it for an hour, would it at least tint my hair, enough that it would show in the sunlight? Getting it professionally done isn't an option.

  • Is living in the suburbs REALLY better than living in Chicago's Irving Park?

For a high schooler i.e. me?

I personally think it will just be more kids smoking pot out of boredom, more underage sex, and more nothing to do. My mom suggests Naperville is heaven on earth, but I'm a straight edge punk kid who also likes some metal and gothic industrial. I need my shows.

  • I can't view secure sites (log into anything) thanks to Antivirus 09 Virus!?

I'm writing this through a laptop. Our desktop (Running XP SP3) was infected with Antivirus 2009 virus so I did a system recover and downloaded a crapload of service packs, all that good stuff. Unfortunately, though I removed the virus through Malwarebytes and Avast! I still am not able to view secure websites. Whenever I go to a website and go to the log in page, it won't load. I tried doing multiple scans in and out of safe mode, renamed Catboot2 or whatever it's called, and nothing. I can access the internet fine, though.

Another problem I have is that the certificates to EVERYTHING are expired. When I try to download Java it tells me that it refuses to download because it doesn't trust the certificate. It's been doing this a lot. I've been able to avoid it by Saving files when I download them instead of immediatly Running them but it won't work this time.

If you helped me solve this problem, I will be the most thankful nerd in all of the word. :) Please help!
