  • Scary alien movies?!?

For me, 'Fire in the Sky' is by far the scariest alien movie I have ever seen, but there aren't a whole lot out there! At least not from what I can find... Communion, Signs, Extra-Terrestrial, Dark Skies, Altered, the Alien series... Are there any good ones that you can think of that would be worth a watch? Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

  • How many people come in here to validate themselves?

I find people's behavior interesting... I have posted several staged questions on Yahoo answers to see the type of responses I would, expectedly, get. When asking about help with installing windows 7 on a windows 8 machine, more people than not who knew the answer commented in demeaning and offensive contexts; calling me dumb, retarded, etc. (amongst other things). What's more, other people actually liked their condescending messages! It would appear from the pattern of responses I have gotten that many people do not care to help someone out as much as they do seeking approval from peers by picking out the weak within the given context. I have seen the same pattern of condescension utilized in other various posts where people ask for help! Perhaps this is not true in all cases, but it has proven to be true an unfortunate amount.. Is it that people seek validation? Any sociological thoughts?

  • Windows 8 to Windows 7?

So.... Windows 8 is terrible. I've re-formatted windows 7 many times and it's super easy, but installing windows 7 to take place of windows 8 is a nightmare... While booting up, there is no screen that even gives me the options to enter boot mode. So I looked up that holding "shift" while clicking restart would bring me to where I needed to go - and it is a halfassed boot menu where, no matter what option I choose, the display goes dead like I'm not even hooked up via hdmi. Please, if there is someone out there that knows how to help - I am about to kill myself. Windows really screwed up with this shitty OS

  • Do I have a kidney stone?!?!?

Before I start, I have to admit that I am suspicious of kidney stones because I don't drink enough water and I drink way too many energy drinks! Anyway, the pain came about very abruptly in my lower left stomach and the whole area is super sensitive to touch, or even if I move a certain way. I would explain it as almost a severe bruise-style pain with Sharp pain as well. I've never had a kidney stone before, but I heard that it's REALLY painful! Should I expect this pain to get worse and worse until I finally, and most certainly painfully, get it out?!? If so, how long until that happens? Until then, I've heard in the past that cranberry juice (the real stuff) and lots of water should help.

  • Could I have throat cancer?

I have had a pain that is located just above the "Adams Apple" in the back of my throat and it has been there for around 3 months now. It seems to be getting more painful, particularly at night! My breathing has become much more shallow as well as audible, even without excersising, within the past few months. Swallowing hurts, deep in my ears there's pain, and breathing can be difficult! I have been smoking for 10 years now and I do smoke a lot - which is dumb, I know, but I'm starting to get pretty worried about it. I am ex-military, so I use the VA clinic - I think my Doctor dismissed me as another whiner with a sore throat (or he thought it might be strep). I did try to tell him that I've had sore throats and strep throats in the past and this definitely feels like neither - he prescribed me some general antibiotics and told me to quit smoking. It's been almost a week now and the pain is becoming pretty awful! Does anyone have any thoughts? Does any of this sound like throat cancer or something else that might be real serious? Thanks for reading this and thank you so much if you decide to take your time to respond - kind of freaked out

  • cellphone bluetooth question!?

I'm new in real estate and I am now in the market for a bluetooth earpiece for my cell phone. I know the bluetooth's main purpose is for answering callings and talking, but my main question is this: can I listen to podcasts and/or music with the bluetooth earpiece as well? I have a Galaxy Samsung S5, if that matters. Thanks

  • Real Estate legal question!?

I am a new Realtor in Wisconsin. I am primarily working with buyers and I like to put together a comprehensive buyer's packet for every home we look at. One of the things I print out for the packet is from the Web Mapping site because it is a nice aerial photo of the property and its property lines. The problem is, at the bottom of the aerial photo it has some basic info including the seller's full name. Is this a problem? I never tell the buyer the seller's name because it has nothing to do with the prospective home, but is this illegal? Thanks

  • Okay-to-eat potatoes?

Everytime I get a bag of potatoes, 90% of them have black, brown, or minor rot-like issues on the insides of them. So to make french fries, I have to cut all the gross-looking parts out of it!!! Are these characteristics of potatoes okay to eat, or should they be cut around and avoided?

  • Cheerleaders: feminist perspective?

I am huge into sociology and the understanding of how people work. My latest question is for feminists and their outlook on cheerleaders! I've covered women's clothing, media pressure on women, and other aspects of how feminist women view things. So, are cheerleaders an example of women being subordinate to men? Is it okay that cheerleaders usually fall into the medias expectations of what an attractive female should look like? Thoughts are much appreciated

  • Heart literally hurts?

This isn't a problem with being dumped or anything like that! But the left part of my chest has been in pain the last couple of days... I presume it's my heart, maybe it could be my left lung - but there's a very uncomfortable pressure on it! I have been smoking for about 11 years and I'm 27 years of age now. I've been pretty fit my whole life, but this is the worst I've probably been fat-wise. 208 pounds 5'10". Could this be an imminent sign of larger problems? If someone might have any insight other than see a doctor I'd very much appreciate it, thanks!

  • Vatican: Under Threat?

Not sure if anyone might have much information on this topic, but the thought occured to me: the Vatican seems like a great terrorist target, have they ever been attacked? Are there many defense parameters in place right now? Do they receive a lot of threats? Thoughts would be appreciated

  • Why religion?

There are so many versions of religion! Even a single religion has multiple versions... Old Testament, New Testament, Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, Buddhism, etc.. Facts don't have versions, so why are so many people willing to believe? I find it naive to believe that we are at a stage in our civilization to claim who, or what, god is. How one feels about his or her religion, someone of another faith feels the same way about their respective religion - seemingly nobody is correct. Why not wait for the truth? I do not mean to sound offensive, for I can't claim to know of any religion that I would belong to... But I have surmised that religion has become accepted due to the lack of actual information, which faith is not - religion is simply the quickest answer at hand. Thoughts?

  • Death: Where does one's being go?

Obviously this is a speculative question - just curious what other's may think! I personally believe we go back to the place we were before birth. A place where time and consciousness does not exist; an eternal abyss neither good nor bad. Thoughts?

  • Veteran: How to get W-2?

I've been out of the Navy for a little over a year now and it's time to file taxes - I use TurboTax. I doubt I'll receive my W2 in the mail since I've lived at multiple addresses throughout the last year! Nor do I recall MyPay info: no ID, Password, or associated e-mail to try and figure it out in the website - that nullifies any chance of a support ticket. Any ideas...?

  • What color tie do I wear?!?!?

I've got a light blue dress shirt and a purple/white fine pinstripe dress shirt - I've got a photoshoot today for real estate. Does a purple tie go well with a purple shirt? Blue tie with blue shirt? I've also got a maroon tie and a goldish tie as well. None of the ties are flat, the purple and blue tie have the diagonal stripes and the gold and maroon tie have a small diamond pattern. Any help would be greatly appreciated - I suck at fashion
