  • does this appropriate to be worn inside the university?

    dark blue sweater, black legging overlapped with just above knee rumpled dark blue skirt. i mean, i don't show any skin except the hands area, face, and neck...the legging is not even transparent at all. it should be really appropriated, right?

  • it won't grow long. what's wrong with my hair, and what should i do?

    since i remodelled it six months ago, it hasn't grow back to its previous mid-back length from shoulder length. as long as i can feel there is no dead end, i do all suggestions to keep my hair healthy like exercising, using hair vitamins, no overtreating...everything. my hair is in the best condition ever... only it wouldn't grow long. the only part of my hair that grows so fast is only my bangs.

  • jeans and tops advice for unusual body type, please?

    first to start i'm very athletic, with nicely toned lean muscles and broad shoulder like all running athletes. the problem is, i am only 5'2'', yet i can say i have naturally wide and large bone structure. .i'm only size 2, so fat is not the problem, the real problem is my height paired with wide and large bone structure. it's very wrong. fitting clothes, even the dark one accentuate the wideness of my body. loose clothes make me look even larger.

    mini skirt and shorts with any top look good on my toned legs and somehow makes me look more balanced, but the problem is i can't wear things that show much of a leg here. in contrast every trousers paired with any top look wrong on me. i need new clothes that don't make me feel like hulk anymore. please help!

    i'm still 18 =p

  • archimedes law question: please help me asap? where did i do wrong?

    a balloon filled with Helium gas is tied down to a rope. the rope is 2 meter long, and its mass is 0.05kg (evenly distributed)

    then this balloon is released. at certain height, the balloon floats. what is the length of the rope when the balloon floats at its equilibrium?

    the mass of the empty balloon is 0.25kg, and its radius is 0.4m. the density of the air is 1.29 kg/m^3.

    i thought the buoyant force provided by the bare air would be equivalent with the weight of rope, plus weight of balloon, plus weight of helium inside the balloon. so

    Fb = W rope + W balloon + W helium

    (Rho air x g x Vballoon) = W rope + W balloon

    because there is no data provided related to density of Helium gas, i assume the weight of helium gas can be ignored.

    but somehow i get W rope 0.9 N. this means the mass of the rope is 0.09kg...while the data mentioned that the mass of the rope is 0.05kg. impossible!

  • what should i do when someone asked me to be his GF (but i'm not interested in a relationship)?

    i like the guy, but i love myself the most, then i love freedom the second most. i really love being single. my last relationship was sucks (clingy, needy, leave-me-no-space-for-myself boyfriend; it makes me can't see the good side of a relationship anymore)

    i'd prefer to be in an open relationship, friend with benefits, or anything else. but i'm so confused. help me?

  • why do i lose all my motivations? what should i do to lift up my spirit?

    i'm a university freshman (lives faraway from home) i'm so sick of my routines. difficult exams and lessons, harsh competition, are some source of my stress. i hang out regularly with friends (and go crazy with them), i also exercise, and even involved in an extraculliculair activity, however those things aren't helping me getting better. i used to like being challenged, but now i'm sick of it. i've lost all my motivations to study. the proud feeling that i was accepted in the university and major of my dream has evaporated. even thinking of my dreams doesn't get me excited anymore. i hate to admit it, but i feel pathetic, i feel like such a loser, but i can't run away. i know i have many to be thankful of, but it's like 'oh yeah. so what?' what should i do to lift up my spirit?

  • calculus question: what is the limit of x->0 from x sin 1/x?

    my answer is 0. i'm doing this:

    sin 1/x = y

    -1>= y >= 1

    therefore,

    -1 >= sin 1/x >= 1

    -x >= x sin 1/x >= x

    since lim x-> 0 -x = lim x-> 0 x = 0, therefore lim x->0 from x sin 1/x must be zero, too.

    but the 1/x value concerns me, my teacher talked something about 1/x and infinity, lim x->0 from negative infinity and positive infinity and something like that, but i don't really understand. could you please explain this to me?

  • should i push myself to participate in many extraculliculair activities?

    ...in order to improve my organization skill?

    it is said that organization experiences are considered very important to be successful. but in fact, i'm not really into such things. i'm the type who like to do things on my own, prefer to blend in if i'm inside a large crowd, and need 'alone' time more than average people. for me, one extraculliculair activity is enough. but i want to be successful and improve my organization skill. should i push myself out of my comfort zone even though i don't really like it?

    FYI: i'm first year in chem engineering major

  • how to politely decline religious services offered to you?

    here at my new school (it's a public institution) i'm automatically registered into some kind of christian youth group because of my id card religion (in my country it's mandatory to have one religion). they have some kind of mentoring program. they try to reach out to the freshmen, they ask what kind of church i belong to, etc. i'm not comfortable, but they're just a bunch of nice people who think i need some help. i even attend their weekly service, but i definitely decline to get involved more than that.

    to admit that i'm an agnostic is hard...you know. they'll try to talk to me and later make sure i'm not an agnostic anymore. i'm 18 already, i want to stand up for what i believe!

    i just don't want them to spend their time uselessly on me... they can concentrate on people who really long for christ, and i can roam free.
