Why can I give thumbs down to one answer and not another?
I was looking at a question with a lot of answers, and wanted to give thumbs down to a rude one. The phrase came up "we cannot record your rating right now, try again later" in red. That's odd, says I. So I go to another answer on the same question, also a bad one (but not so rude), and the thumbs down rating works. That's even odder, says I. So I go back to the rude one I originally wanted to rate, and hit it again. "Your session has expired. Sign in again." WHAAATTT????

Congratulations. You have been randomly selected to receive one of our newest FREE features called "irritation aggravation".
I usually only give a thumbs down if the person is rude or disrespectful or if they're a troll. On rare occasions I'll give someone a thumbs down even if they aren't any of those things if I think the answer is really bad... like, if they give bad advice or something. Just because I hope that if other people do the same thing, the person who asked the question will see how many thumbs down a certain answer got and not listen to it.
There's a glitch in the Yahoo Answers system that is interfering with people giving "thumbs up" or "thumbs down." Usually, if it tells you that your session is timed out or that it can't save your rating, you can give "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" if you try later. Give it 20 or 30 minutes then try again.
Yahoo is in a tail spin at the moment. Try your refresh button and you will see that the ones that were accepted really were not accepted. This will pass after they finish working on the system
I am also having this problem. It started yesterday. I guess this is this weeks glitch!!! lol We have had one every week for the last month!!! At least this is a small one compared to the others!!!! Maybe yahoo will get all this mess fixed soon!!!!
