How did the Democratic party get taken over by the whining far left instead of rational free-thinkers?
I mean that there have been some great democratic statesmen and a lot of reasonable leaders in the past, but now the party seems to be full of rabid whining bed-wetting socialists who are angry because they lost to an idiot like george bush twice. Isn't there anyone left in the party with any interest in saving their country? Before you start with the anti-bush shots, I don't like him either and I am a Libertarian and anti-socialist who believes in personal responsibility instead of government interference!

JimB; I'm all for free thinking. reread the question. my fear is of the ones who spout a party line, not the free-thinkers. Rationality is severely lacking in most of the hate-speech that is the democratic party line. It is easy to criticize when you offer no solutions, but every time a democrat is put to the test, they back-pedal like Hillary did with her Iraq war support or they want to raise what they steal from the public to pay for it all (taxes). This isn't free-thinking it is towing the party line and it is rank socialism/redistribution of the wealth. Robin Hood stole from the rich to give to the poor. Nancy Pelosi wants to do the same, but not so long as it comes from her estate. No solution = just plain bitching!

I agree with the demo party's lack of direction. I personally feel the W coup was an abomination to our great country. It was clear that both elections were filled with dishonesty and cheating. (I'm a Republican, too).
My party was dishonored when the American Military Industrial Complex , by way off the Texas Oil Cartel, "purchased" the Republican National Committee.
Machine politics is a horrible situation as we saw in Illinois during the reign of Richard J. Daly during the last century. Now that the RNC has sold out, it's just as unhealthy and corrupt as the Dems are in Illinois.
What we could use, is an overhaul of our elected officials. We're being dictated to by a group of people who have no idea what it is like to be a normal working American.
All of our politicians are "children of privlege" and most are from overmonied families. They have no idea what you or I have to do to get by in this country.
It's time to clean house and return America back to the Americans.
