It was supposed to be horror, and it was about this man who is is buried alive because they think he is dead. He then becomes a worm (I know its stupid) and as his wife visits his grave, she steps on the worm(him) and finally kills him. It was part of a series of short features in one.

Sounds more like LA Law's Amanda Donahoe in The Lair of the White Worm.It could have been an HBO or Showtime production from the early 80's

was it "Attack of the Flesh Devouring Space Worms from Outer Space"
there were zombies in that movie as well as worms.
