I'm helping build a computer and i want to know where to plug in the memories slots on the mother board?

I have two 1 gig memory sticks. There are 4 slots, two for channel A and two for channel B. Each channel has a "BLUE" and a "Black". i don't know if i should plug both on the Channel A -Or- should i plug them only into the main blue slots? or does it make any difference where i plug them in?

depends on which motherboard but generally speaking the blue slots are channels 0 and 1 for memory, meaning the first and second slots for memory, but they could be color coded as to what type of memory to put in, most motherboards support different speeds of memory and as long as you have a matching pair of sticks it shouldn't matter which slots you use, as long as you use slots that are next to each other.....only because that will reduce any lag time the pc may have in reading the memory. Double check the specs and manual for the motherboard to ensure memoiry slot order and speeds.

If your building a computer that means you put the motherboard in, and it will have a manual for it and it will have a section on memory. To some motherboards it will matter what slots you put it in, because it will be able to use them in a faster combination "Dual Channel". Given your description it sounds like filling the blue slots first, and if you were going to put in 4 the black ones next. It isn't that you couldn't put in an odd amount of memory sicks, but then that stick would run in "single channel" mode and be a bit slower.

final motel tactic - circulate into gadget supervisor and do away with the USB controller drivers (i think of they're referred to as the USB Hub controller - you will might desire to look down the record and see). Reboot the computing gadget and domicile windows could reinstall them for you - could fix the venture.
