What do Americans expect the Mexican Government to do to stop Illegal immigration?

Really.

The Mexican government CAN'T DO ANYTHING to prevent illegal immigration.
To stop any Mexican citizen from going out of their country would be to step on that citizen's basic constitutional rights and freedoms, mainly the 11th article of the Mexican constitution, which states:

"Every man has a right to enter the Republic, exit it, travel through its territory, and change his residence without the need of a security card, passport, or any similar device"

So as you can see, the government's hands are tied. So stop blaming it.

There's also the misconception that the Mex goverment ENCOURAGES illegal immigration. That is complete bulls*it. I've never seen anything that makes me think it could be plausible.

Well, their President can start by not buttering up to Bush trying to get amnesty for the illegals already here. I don't hear the Mexican President trying to convince the illegal Mexicans in the US to go back, he's trying to convince the US to let them stay.

Well, what the heck does the Mexican Constitution have to do with the U.S.A.? And of course the Mexican government can do something about their people running away from that impoverished land, build the economy and get rid of all corrupted officials. God Bless the U.S.A. and keep our borders patrolled, there's only so much geography here to go around.

Thats interesting, because preventing Central American Illegal immigrants from entering their country would also violate that article.
