Why do toddlers find other toddlers fascinating?

When they come upon one another on the street or in a mall, they'll trip over their own feet looking at the other one. It's funny.

I think it's an immediate affinity with someone of their like and so nice to see. They are on the same level.
People want to be friendly and learn from each other.

I think it's because in other toddlers, they see someone who they think is like them and can relate to. And it's not just to other toddlers, it can be to other people too. When my niece (my cousin's daughter), a very naughty and talkative bundle, first saw my Grandma (my mom's mom), she didn't know who she was but she kept coming near her and kept talking to her politely. She maybe had an idea that elderly people always treated her nice and related to her, that's why she acted that way. I hope this helped.

that happens to my niece... I believe that it's because she's not around them. She is an only child and most out the time she is around adults. when she see another toddler she doesn't feel so out of place... you know
