MBA Marketing or PhD?

I am an MBA from a highly reputed business school of India and I am Nepalese by citizen. After completion of my MBA in finance in 2001, I started working with reputed organizations of Nepal with a twist, I worked in the field of Marketing.
Now, I want to do PhD in Marketing. Is it possible for me to do so with a degree in Finance but experience in Marketing for over six years? Or should I do MBA in Marketing? Or is there any linking course offered by some institute?
Furthermore, I am also willing to know about finding the financial assistance for my PhD as my family is dependent on me. Being a citizen of developing country, how easy is it for me to find financial assistance? Please help.

If you are making good money, why would you want to get a PhD in Marketing? One does not need a PhD in marketing or an MBA in Marketing to continue on with their work. IF you already have experience and already are working with reputed organizations, just keep moving up in the work world. No point in going back to school. It won't help

I agree. Don't over-educate yourself. Try hard to find ways in transitioning into marketing. You already have some exposure/relevant experience.
