How do you order your shrimp poboy?

I order mine: dressed, add ketchup and hot sauce. I've been in a debate with a fellow New Orleanian for years over whether or not this is acceptable. He says real New Orleanians don't put ketchup on their shrimp poboys. I say he's confused.

I know I didn't come up with this on my own; it's the way I've always ordered it. I apparently saw it being done like this at a very young age--by who, I don't remember--and have been ordering it this way ever since.

What do you say?

Where are you from Star? That doesn't sound like a poboy.

Quick answer for Bren:
Danny & Clyde's right now regular shrimp poboy is $2.99.
Parkway by Bayou St. John is always a winner.
If you find yourself on the North Shore, Bear's is awesome.
Those are my immediate choices. Some others: Parasol's, Crabby Jack's, Frankie & Johnny's.

Bear's is the best. I always put ketchup on mine along with Louisiana Hot sauce and fully dressed no naked shrimp po-boy for me.

I grew up in New Orleans and always order it dressed. I usually add my own ketchup.

Did you know that New Orleans is the ketchup capitol of the world? It's because we but so much of it on seafood so eat up and enjoy!!!!!
