How is it possible that evolution is not inherent to creation?

Even as a child before I could understand the debate over creation vs. evolution, there seemed to be an awareness that they are one in the same.

It seems as if on position denies the other just so that there is something to argue about, rather than finding out how they work together. I see no evidence solely supporting either creation or evolution.

When seen separately the limitations of each are obvious. But together no such limits seem to exist. So can any one give a limitation of this concept that would explain both as the source of what we come to know as the universe?

From an atheists point of view, the big question is the existence of God. Having answered that one, to my satisfaction, evolution is what is left.

Trying to see things from the believers perspective, I think it is perfectly reasonable to say that evolution is the method that God uses in his creation, which I believe is the position you describe in your question.

What I find interesting is the fact that many, possibly most, believers deny that a process of evolution took place at all. It seems that they do this in order to fit in with the idea that the Earth is 6000 years old. To me this is ludicrous!

Jacques Monod was noted for his contributions not only in his field of molecular biology, but also in philosophy. He was a close friend of the French philosopher, Albert Camus. He once said in an interview, "... selection is the blindest, and most cruel way of evolving new species, and more and more complex and refined organisms … because it is a process of elimination, of destruction. The struggle for life and elimination of the weakest is a horrible process, against which our whole modern ethics revolts. An ideal society is a non-selective society, is one where the weak is protected; which is exactly the reverse of the so-called natural law. I am surprised that a Christian would defend the idea that this is the process which God more or less set up in order to have evolution.

God's infinite Wisdom and Love allowed for the changes that would need to happen in order for His Creation to thrive. He installed flexibility into everything - even the human heart.

Evolution starts with "There is no God".

All variations that include a god are compromises between the classic evolution and creation positions.
