Y! Answers suggestion regarding thumbs up / thumbs down.?

I don't know if it's feasible or not, but how about giving Y! Answers users the ability to see who gives their responses thumbs up and thumbs down. This could cut down on trolling and keep things a little more honest. Good idea or bad idea?

First of all, I don't think that will ever happen, that's just like them letting you know who reported your question that got deleted. Second, I think it is a bad idea because people get really nasty on here and they and all their contact would be after you if they knew you gave them a thumbs down. It already shows who gives you a star and I think that is as far as it should go. You are never going to be able to stop the trolling but why give people something else to use against you. I say leave things the way they are, sorry.*

I used to think it would be good. Now, I don't. Thumbs up/down ratings don't affect anything that relates to points; your level, best answer choice, etc. And to see who gave a thumbs up/down might lead to personal vendettas which would be not good for Y/A. Some people get their kicks out of giving thumbs down whether the answer is good or not. You could say that knowing who they are would help weed them out, I don't think so. They would counter that it was their sincere opinion. I like the "thumbs" to be meaningless as far as points, which they are, and taking them with a BIG grain of salt, not personally.

Bad idea. This will actually increase trolling by HUGE numbers. I don't see how your logic could have worked it out the other way.

User sees another user thumbs downed them, they troll them for it. Simple as that.
