Nobody knows for sure what happens when someone dies.

As for me, until evidence is presented otherwise, I’ll assume that when I die, and my brain functions cease, I (the consciousness that is me) will simply cease to exist.

The same thing as everyone else, into the ground, or cremated. It's that simple. Belief in a heaven and hell was created to make people to continue going to church (more $$$).

We go to the exact same place that everyone else does. Usually to the morgue, and then to a cemetery. Some of us are cremated.

Edit: As for what we're aware of after we die...absolutely nothing at all. We're not even aware that we've died.

hi jeannette ;-)

well most atheists have all different beleifs on this , soem dont beleive in any afterlife, that when you die, thats it some do and they all have many differing ideas about it, as no one knows we can only speculate and guess

me, i beleive there is possibly an energy plane that we go to , that our energy/soul goes to

Same place as everyone else. We simply cease to exist. I imagine it will be a lot like it was before I was born.
