Is Final Fantasy X PAL version compatible with a US PS2?

You see, I'm considering buying a the PAL version of Final Fantasy X, for the extras, such as the Dark Aeons and the ultimate side boss.
Before I make the purchase, I want to know is if the region block prevents me from playing the PAL version.
If so, then I'll buy the PS2 necessary, if not, then I'll celebrate and buy the PAL version without worry.

Nah, if you want to play the PAL version, you can't play it on an NTSC (United States) console. You'd have to buy a PAL console. The only other option is to get an emulator, and get the game for free, but as far as I know, nobody's made a PS2 emulator yet. : (
