It seems that a blu ray dvd will not play in a regular dvd player, but will a regular dvd play in a blu ray player? Thanks in advance.

Yes a regular DVD will play in blu ray player, in fact the blu ray player will improve the quality of your regular DVD's. Enjoy the show!

Yes, blu ray player can play the dvd and cd's. Each player will have a label on top or front of each player what it is capable of playing.

A Blu-ray disc isn't backward compatiable with a DVD player, but a DVD disc is backward with a Blu-ray player.
