what could cause my 1990 blazer not to start?

My blazer has a 4.3 l and it turns over but it turns really slow. i had the starter tested and it works great. The battery has plenty of cranking amps so i know it's not that. i even gave it a tuneup plugs, wires, cap and rotar. it has been sitting for almost a year since i bought it and it didn't start when i bought it but i havent had time to really work on it because of school.
I was told there might need to be a spacer between the starter to where it connects. any help?

i know for sure it has enough power to crank it because it was the largest battery i could fit into my truck and it's brand new

the timing could be advanced too far. it still could be the starter if it,s dragging. it might test okay out of the car but maybe it don,t have enough power to crank it fast.

Check your timing. That's what I would check.
