The cause for rejection for Armed Forces female applicants is height less than 58 inches or more than 80 inches.

58 inches is 4'10". You would require a waiver, which would have a good chance of being denied. The height requirements are set because military equipment is made for a specific height range of people. If your unit needs you to be a gunner or a driver, you can't not be able to do it because you're too short.

4'10 is the minimum height allowed for females. At 4'9 you will need a height waiver. Whether or not you will get it depends on how the Command Surgeon of the Army Recruiting Command is feeling when the waiver request goes into their e-mail inbox but you have a pretty decent chance of getting it approved.

I think you have to be 5'0" for males and 4'10" for females.
