For some reason they put a black ball in her mouth which they did not explain, I found that interesting. No one is to look the new emporer in the eyes, nor are they able to turn their back on him. Kind of the same rules as in Seven Years in Tibet. It seems as though the young boy is never left unattended. This must be very annoying to him.
