Recommended diet for a Quadriplegic woman?
I take care of a woman who is 50 years old, a quadriplegic, about 4'11'' and 110 lbs.. We are constantly battling on what she should and shouldnt eat. How much protein, sodium, calories she should have a day is what we are looking for--and some good food options for potassium etc..... I suggested lean cuisines- which have about 600 mg of sodium, but it has a good amount of protein and fiber and most of them taste good too. As a person that cannot physically move, she is always concerned about weight gain, which is another reason I suggested lean cuisines..
I would like to have some professional opinions.
By the way, she does have a pressure sore.. just to keep that in mind.
All suggestions welcome. Thank You
To lawyer X... "Constantly battling" was a figure of speech.. we arent actually arguing, but we do go back and forth about what is right. Your right, she should eat what she wants, but when she wants to eat nothing, its not ok. My goal is to get a plan together for her diet, so she has all the requirements of a healthy person. Currently she has low postassium, low folic acid.. the list goes on. You obviously have never worked for a person with her needs so you shouldnt have even commented. idiot.
