My Refrigerator is Leaking from the Inside?

My fridge is a standard freezer on top fridge. ever since we moved into our apartment, there has been water leaking on the inside of fridge area(not freezer) so much so that i had to put 2 bowls in the back of it to catch all the water, which i have to dump once or twice a week. otherwise water will collect under the crisper tray or on the bottom shelf(the bottom shelf over the crisper tray is glass). it will even ruin some of our food because water will collect in any uncovered bowls or on top of cardboard-like pizza boxes

my landlord wont fix or replace the refrigerator because it states in our lease that it will not be fixed or replaced by them.

Its driving me nuts and I'm about ready to just get a new fridge.

Any idea what is causing this problem and if it is easily fixed by my husband or I?

I cannot leave the fridge off for a long period of time because we have food that will spoil and we don't have a cooler to put any of it in.

Stratm66 is correct, now I'm going to tell you how to fix it according to the manual. Find the hole at the bottom and use a meat baster and 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 2 cups of hot water (not boiling) to force the clog through the drain line. You should do this once a year to prevent more clogging in the future.

when the frigde start a defrost cycle it will melt the ice from the evaporator( radiator coil inside the freezer section) and all the water is drain to a pan outside the fride( commonly located on top of compressor or below the condenser) . Is possible that the hose drain is unpluge somewhere in the fridge, try to finded an pluged again.

It's in your lease that your landlord won't fix the appliances? Wow, that' one of the main points or renting. Anyway, it sounds like a seal on the door or perhaps a crack somewhere that is allowing warmer air into the freezer. The water is from the melting ice. That's my guess w/o seeing it.
For under $300 I'd get a new fridge...AND TAKE IT WITH YOU WHEN YOU MOVE.
Your landlord is a crook.

drip to the evaporation pan is blocked...clean it...look up the model online...pretty simple and about 10 mins worth of labor...easy stuff..GL
