1. The length of a rectangle is 2cm more than three times the width. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 28cm. What are the dimensions?


2. The sum of the ages of Marry and her mother is 58. Her mother is 10years more than twice as old as Marry. How old are Marry and her mother?

1.  2(3w+2) + 2w =28
        8w = 24
        w = 3 & length =11

2.   M + m = 58
      2m + 10 = M;
      2m + 10 + m = 58
      3m = 48  so  m= 12 and Mom is 58 - 12 = 46

    Mary's mother's age= 42 Years old
