How is asking for source a violation of Yahoo Community Guidelines?

Question

Recently a Question of mine was reported and taken down. The question was about another post repeated many time that I have seen namely 500,000 Arab immigrated to Palestine between 1922 and 1947. I didn't name the poster nor commented on the accuracy of the statement, just the origin of the statistic.
So how is asking source for a statistic a violation? Isn't that the whole purpose of Yahoo! Answers?
Because of course, I wouldn't want to make the same mistake!

while a query hyperlinks to or references yet another person's question or answer, it could purely approximately continuously be stated as a 'calling out' violation. If a query hyperlinks to or references an asker's own question or answer, it quite is often 'unsolicited mail'. for the reason that your question became 'approximately yet another submit', my guess is which you have been stated for calling out yet another person, even although you probably did no longer call that person. this is purely no longer a reliable concept to try this. you might have published the statistic itself and asked for a source, with out connection with the Q or A posting.

As far as I know, it isn't, but sometimes the rules are a bit muddled.  It's kinda/sorta in the wrong section for such, technically, which might constitute a violation, but I'm not sure.

If you think it's wrong, fight for it back, I guess.  Don't complain here - I'm pretty sure that could be seen as a violation, too, if perceived as a rant.  Besides, this is a question for the Y!A section, wherever that may be on this site.
