How many gallons does each angelfish need?

I own a 20 gallon tank that has been cycling for two weeks. I want to put angelfish in it but I am not sure how many. I found this but I am not sure its true either.

1 gallon of water per nickel-sized angelfish
2 gallons of water per quarter-sized angelfish
3 gallons of water per silver dollar-sized angelfish
4 gallons of water per full grown angelfish

Sorry but I don't agree with needing 45gals for a pair. I have a beautiful healthy almost full grown pair of angels in my 27gal tall hex tank and they are doing amazing. I have had them for almost a year and have never had a problem. One thing I would do is start with 4 or 5 small angels. Watch them to see if any form pairs. Once a pair has formed keep them and rehome the others or return them to the pet store. Once a pair forms they will terrorize the others until they eventually stress them enough to kill them. If you get a mated pair they will be fine in 20gal as long as they are the only fish you have. Maybe upgrade in 6 months or so when they get bigger, preferably a tall tank since they prefer those over regular long tanks. Good luck, angels are amazing and beautiful fish!!

As far as I know these are all W R O N G !!
Angle fish needs minimum 30 gallons of water and a full sized would need 45+ gallon tank.

No just no where did you read such Rubbish .
Its 29 gallons for a single Angel fish
45 gallons plus for a pair .
If you want to start with nickel sized angel fish then you cant in a 20 .
You would start with 6-9 in at least 45 gallons then wait for them to pair off and keep a pair .

Angel fish are cichlids, and predetory carnivores. you have to be very carefull y what different fish are interior the tank, A fifty 5 is somewhat a greater effective length tank for angels. Angelfish are ok jointly whilst small, yet as quickly as their physique length is a million/2 greenback length or so, they start to get territorial, Mails and females will choose friends wich they'll shop for existence, yet different angels would be seen as threats. in case you have 2 adult males or 2 females, they'll in all probability never get alongside and must be seperated. If the are a woman and male, they could pair up, they would not. Unfourtunatly, their is not any thank you to tell in case you have adult males or females until they're waiting to mate. in the event that they're nevertheless combating, you may attempt including greater flora and decorations, and attempt blending up the flora and deco interior the tank. If that doesnt help, you will ought to seperate them.

Where do you find all this "information"? There's more to keeping fish than just measuring them and then keeping them wet.

A spawning pair of Angels needs something like a 40 gallon.
