I can trace my roots in Israel to Biblical times, I am as white as can be.
The Israelites were white people.

Song of Songs

Chapter 5

8 'I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if ye find my beloved, what will ye tell him? that I am love-sick.'

9 'What is thy beloved more than another beloved, O thou fairest among women? What is thy beloved more than another beloved, that thou dost so adjure us?'

10 'My beloved is white and ruddy, pre-eminent above ten thousand.

11 His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are curled, and black as a raven.

12 His eyes are like doves beside the water-brooks; washed with milk, and fitly set.

13 His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as banks of sweet herbs; his lips are as lilies, dropping with flowing myrrh.

14 His hands are as rods of gold set with beryl; his body is as polished ivory overlaid with sapphires.

15 His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold; his aspect is like Lebanon, excellent as the cedars.

16 His mouth is most sweet; yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.'

All persons born or who have become a citizen of Israel since 1948 who have nothing against being identified as Israelis except Arabs who are not comfortable with being called Israelis.

This kind of question will always bring up a sh*tstorm among the religious.

The Arabs will claim the Arabs are the true Israeli people as they've been there for thousands of years, Not to mention that Issac, Abraham's son stole Ishmael's inheritance.

The Jews will say that they are the true Israeli people because they are descendants of Abraham and God gave the the land.

The fundamentalist Christians (aside from the Mormons) will say that they are the true Israelis because they believe in the Messiah and soon the land will be theirs.

Depending on the race of the believer of either religion they will claim that their race was the original (ever hear of the Korean Jesus).

I as a atheist don't really care about races, we are all people.

Israeli Jews are the original people people of the Land of Israel since at about 3300 years ago.
It is also true that many of the surrounding people converted to Judaism and the Bible does indicate that many Jebusites,Edomites and Midianites and a host of other people were absorbed into the original tribes. Also that non -Jews ,Gerei Tashuv, who lived among the progenitors of Israel, joined the Exodus from Egypt.

Philistines were not among those who joined the Hebrews, nor did they contribute to any other local gene pool as authentic DNA experts will confirm. We know that the Philistines were taken as to Babylon 2,700 years ago and never heard of again. This puts paid to "Palestinian" claims of Philistine descent.

Shay P quotes very appropriately Biblical evidence of the appearance of Hebrews at that time and largely today.

Although anecdotal ,one family I am closely connected to ,is one of the many descended from King David's line. They have always insisted on looking at the genealogy of those their children marry.
Even although they lived, virtually continuously ,in the Land of Israel are all, barring Sephardic spouses in more recent generations, light and ruddy ,of skin and of hair colouring.

However other Jews, descended from the Davidic Dynasty and members of the Priestly Tribe are both olive and white skinned.

I notice in my own immediate family both white skinned and fair hair and blue eyes and olive skins brown eyes with black hair.

There is no such thing as a pure race. However it is most likely that our ancient forebears did not look significantly different to the very wide range of features and pigmentation's found in modern Israel.

The Stevens or "Steve" are the true Israelis. They can punch through trees, go for days without food and they don't even need to drink water.
