Question about army and adhd?

I recently got my doctor to write a letter saying that I don't have any ADHD any longer. I've been off the meds for at least 6 or more years. (Thats on the letter too). My recruiter said just lie about it and they'll never know. He said the'll still have to review a waiver, and that it might get denied for me having kind of bad grades. Even though I graduated. He said he needs an answer soon as to whether I want to lie about it, which will shoten the process, or to get the paperwork, which I have, and that it may take weeks or even months to reveiw my case. I don't want to go in lieing. I want to go in with integrity. What should I do?

if your doctor took you off the meds and it has been 6 years (so if you are 18, that means you were taken off of them at 12) since you last took them, honestly, i'd be hard pressed to even mention it. i think with that kind of distance between last use and now - it is a moot point.

You won't be disqualified regardless since you have been off the meds long enough. You would just need the medical paperwork and your recruiter sounds lazy and impatient and doesn't want to go through that. If you have the medical paperwork with you at meps or sent with the prescreen, you are fine.

Secondly, you do not need a waiver for grades. A diploma is sufficient, no one cares what the grades were.

Your recruiter sounds like the sly lying ones everyone warns about.

I say get a different recruiter, or call this one out and hope he doesn't throw a fit and screw up your process by doing your paperwork super slowly.
