I do not understand the sacrifice that Jesus made? So what he died. We all die, he went through one beating and that was it. Many of us have suffered for years of unimaginable suffering. I myself received daily beatings as a child with a belt and a wire brush. The suffering has not ended children who were abused seem to suffer the most in adulthood. Yet I am supposed to believe that this was some great thing. Please no hate I really don't understand. How could it be called a sacrifice?

I have heard the story before. Don't need to hear it again, The question is what is the sacrifice? Proof that it makes no sense.

So what he got upset in the garden absolutely nothing compared to the suffering of many others. You still do not make sense.

I think it is cheating if you die and then come alive again after a couple days.
None whatsoever. He never existed, so the question is moot, but let's play "Let's pretend" for a bit...unlike other humans who must have faith and believe the unbelievable, Jesus was God Incarnate. Or, He at least had first hand knowledge of God.
So, there was no doubt whatsoever in His mind that He would end up in Heaven. He had a Gold Pass, a Get Out Of Jail Free card, an Iron Clad Guarantee that He would not suffer post mortem.
He suffered for all the sins of mankind in the Garden of Gethsemane the night before his crucifixion. His pain was so great it caused him to sweat great drops of blood. If you research medical information, you can find out about what kind of stress can cause such a condition, and it is not a minor thing. He also suffered for all our infirmities, sickness and suffering so that he could descend below all things, comprehend all things and be a perfect judge so no one can say "you do not understand". He does understand, perfectly. Any human suffering what he did would have succumbed to death first. He did not suffer so that there would be no suffering for mankind, he suffered so mankind could be forgiven for sins and so he would know how to comprehend all we go through. He also suffered death.
Noting that this has been from 3 years ago & it seems like no one has really given you a clear answer, allow me to state my point of view.
Jesus is stated in the Bible as God's Son. He is also stated to be one with the father, and then he's said to not be the father, and then that's when everybody gets confused. Why? Because Jesus is both the son of God and God. Don't get worried though; nobody understands the entire thing. And if you do understand the entire thing completely, then you probably just believe without questioning, which is bad. Because then it means you really don't believe.
The thing is, Jesus and God have been best friends ever since the earth was created. I mean, before that. I think it was Jesus & Satan who were the closest to God. Both witnessed creation, and both could either help the kingdom or rebel. Well, Satan rebels, a third of the angels get kicked out, blah blah blah. Then the earth was perfect. God was happy, Jesus was happy, the rest of the angels were happy. Now we go over to Satan. Satan was PISSED. He couldn't believe he couldn't be God (I don't understand what the big deal was about that to be honest he's just whiny). So what he decided to do was since he was going to be condemned to hell, maybe the new humans that God created could suffer and go to hell with him too. So innocent Adam & eve were just going to do what God said, when Satan comes over & says that God just didn't want them to be like Him, didn't want them to be like gods, that He didn't want them to be knowledgeable. They didn't know it wasn't true, and they were right because if there is an alterior motive that was evil, that technically wasn't right. So they ate from the tree. God gets mad. They told Him that the serpent tricked them.
Now we get into Jesus. God wanted to give humans a second chance because we were decieved by Satan. So God went over to Jesus and said He needs to go down to the earth and die for everyone. This was not easy. God has an entire kingdom in heaven. He has jewels, beauty, gold, all this stuff. Jesus had to step down from being a king to a boy in a poor neighborhood in the dirty streets of Nazareth. Since he never encountered sin, he had to deal with death, stealing, killing, etc. He always lived in God's presence, which is filled with much pleasure. He went from all pleasure to almost none, and now God wasn't right next to Him. THEN, you think about it, King Herod tried to kill him only a few months into his birth (or a couple of years, I don't remember). Then when he gets into his two year ministry, the Sadducees and Pharisees hate him and try to sway that everything he said wasn't true and that he was lying. People tried driving him off a cliff one time (at some point in his ministry). THEN on top of all of that, he had to go through the most horrid and humiliating death, even to this day: crucifixion. His friends ran away, he had to carry a cross by himself, he was stripped naked, they flogged him so much before they released Barabbas (I think it was 39 times each with a weapon, 40 makes them an animal). Then he had to wear a crown of thorns that basically went into his brain and destroy everything in it. And then he hung on the cross for what, 9 hours in that condition? I have NO IDEA why God had him to hang for so long... It makes me so upset if anyone goes through that death, let alone his own son. Oh yeah, then they offered him vinegar instead of WATER on the cross (stupid), & then he dies and spends his time in Hades (hell) for three days before he goes back to earth where EVERYONE SINS for 50 days to testify, teach, and spread the gospel. THEN he goes home (talk about a journey!).
So that last paragraph is the sacrifice. God is extremely close with Jesus. It's his only flesh and blood son, born through Mary. The rest of us were made. He had to have Jesus die so that way we could all live. Sin can't go unpunished. Unfortunately, for all of us to live, something innocent had to die. I also think everything was so severe because God wanted us to see the severity of sin and why we can't ever do it again. Sin is horrible; it has awful effects, and I'm seeing it now after searching for so long. You are not alone.
