FIRST The break-up: The one who leaves first hurts least..... The loss of dreams and expectations is bad enough but it is the "rejection" is the big hurt..... reject them first and half the pain goes away

SECOND The best cure is a "new" relationship....but be careful.....go slow.....rebound relationships are dangerous...... be up front...."Just got out of a mess. How about if we just be FRIENDS for a couple of months and see if things work out".....a good partner will understand....

THIRD If you decide to wait until the wounds heal.....KEEP BUSY...... Go on vacations.....concerts.....go to school..... ANYTHING to keep the mind and body busy...... a busy mind does not have time for regrets......Take up a hobby.....learn to play the guitar..... read......

FOURTH The worst time will be your alone time.....before you go to sleep...... the best technique is ANGER.....whatever caused the break-up....GET MAD ABOUT IT ...... A friend of mine broke up with a "cheater".....later....as they often do.....he wanted to "try again".....she asked me.....I said people rarely change..... if she wanted to try again go VERY slow..... if she did not want to run the risk of having her heart broke again..... let him take you to the best restaurant in town.....order enough food to feed a small country....then go to the ladies room and never come back.....she took door number two....he was angry and never came back again.

FINALLY..... Relationships are difficult..... but if two people BOTH work at it it can be done.....but ONE person can not make a relationship

(footnote) Interesting that men have the reputation of having and destroying several relationships at one time.....when in fact it is women who date more different men at the same time and they also are usually the one who "break-up" more than men

TIME.Also, meeting other people. But do not get in a relationship in hope you forget the other person. Instead get to know people and let your feelings dissapear little by little after meeting that person.
