I met a retired couple and one has a huge debt (happened before they even knew each other). The two fell in love, knew nothing about 'pre-nups' and got married. Now they don't know if they're supposed to file married joint or married separate. The one does not want the other one to responsible for the debt if a failure to pay ever happens. Is there any other type of 'pre-nup' they can sign now to help with this or do they just have to file married separate?...Show more
