I'm going to the ER tomorrow because I have some infected place on my leg. (I can't explain it but it's really bad.) Anyway, I don't think I'll have to spend the night but what if I do? I know I'm 15 but I couldn't help but whine and tense up. It's really sore and it was BAD. So besides just having a better idea of what;s happening, how can I let the distractions DISTRACT me? (They have TV and an I pad if it helps.)

Thanks. BTW turns out I didn't go to the ER but I went to the doctor and pretty much got my leg and a few other things checked out. Wasn't horrible.

No need to stay calm. REALLY. Act naturally. Whine and tense up is not strange at ER.
BUT you'd not run around or protest to what doc & nurse do to your wound.
Believe or not? Play VERY LOUD ROCK MUSIC through the in-ear earphone helps a lot.
BTW, tell nurse/doc before you start playing those darn musics.
If you have red stripes running up your leg from the infected place, you need to go to the hospital TONIGHT. You could have cellulitis ("sell-you-LYE-tis"), which is a potentially life-threatening deep tissue infection. The risk with cellulitis is that it can get into your bloodstream and can cause sepsis. The symptoms of cellulitis are swelling of the skin around the wound, redness of the skin around the wound (BRIGHT red), skin that is noticeably hotter than the surrounding skin, and pain (which can be intense). If you have cellulitis, they'll hook you up to an IV for some heavy duty antibiotics and they may admit you to the hospital, depending on how serious your wound is.
You're going to the ER tomorrow to get better, not get worse. And spending the night there isn't the end of the world. It's not like the place is haunted or anything. After you're done with everything, you'll feel a lot better and it'll be worth it in the end.
Give the Meridian Tapping Technique / EFT a good tryout, to see if it helps you. It is free via the searchbar at www.mercola.com "EFT" & "EFT therapists" or www.tapping.com (13 free videos), or www.eftuniverse.com or www.emofree.com or one of the many YouTube videos. Google: "YouTube; EFT videos".
Professionally instructed is generally preferable. - There is a version for use in public places at mercola.com, (if you like, you can claim to have a headache, as you employ the acupressure massage / tapping on your temples, but you would then be restricted to subvocalising: saying it to yourself in your mind: "Even though I'm anxious and tense, I deeply and completely accept myself."

Ask them if it could help healing to apply 100% Manuka honey (health food stores, or some supermarkets).
Sigh.......Jeez, just relax, kid. You see alot of crap on TV that isn't real, plus your imagination getting out of control and you've got worries and scares and fears. Just relax. go do what you have to do and it will work out.
