Why do all those "Christian" county clerks who are refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples disobey God's decree?

They claim they are refusing to issue marriage licenses, despite being ordered to do so because of their "religious convictions". Do they not realize that God commands that people listen to governing authorities?

Romans 13:1-2 "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves."

Since when do you think a Christian reads the Bible? Find me one that can quote John 3:14 from memory, and I'll be impressed.

Her job is to get re-elected: The clerk is an elected official: With the type of publicity she is receiving, she has accomplished her purpose. Paul's letters are not Gospel. Paul was never a disciple or an apostle of Jesus Christ and all 3 different versions of his Damascus RD. story are fake. He wrongly thought an Apostle was greater than a Prophet which is why he chose to call himself an apostle.

You’re right that God’s Word commands us to “be in subjection” to the governmental “superior authorities”. However, when there is a conflict between what God requires and what a political system requires, true worshippers follow the example of the apostles, who said: “We must obey God as ruler rather than men” (Acts 5:29).

Only one clerk has been in the news I've heard. But I think that clerk has to quit her job.

The state could, theoretically, stop the issuance of all marriage licenses. Since the primary purpose now for marriage is to make people eligible for federal marriage subsidies, we should let the feds issue the marriage licenses.
