I ask this as a former Christian, now atheist, after looking up at the stars with a lot of heartache and some hopelessness, while realizing how small I am on our small planet in our huge galaxy amidst a multitude of galaxies in our immense universe.

Why so many dead children? Why droughts in third world countries? Why third world countries?
multitude of galaxies? why because NASA said so? They're a bunch of liars. It's only earth that has life and when the aliens come to earth - you may be deceived because they are demons in disguise. I don't need an answer. I just hope I hear him say "well done, good and faithful servant" It doesn't matter how small we are, God knows us each and knows our thoughts and hearts. He made us and wants us all to be saved. This world is the most hell a believer will have to endure. But for the unbeliever, it's the most heaven he will ever have. Jesus is my Lord and Savior.
I would say that hopelessness is the very word that describes atheism. Never to see loved ones again. And for what gain? Atheists lose the love of God and the people they love in order to live their lives without the authority of anyone above them. They get to live outside the bondage of love.
