Im struggling as to what branch to choose. I am 18 and in a month im graduating. Anyone who knows the military well...
What officer is best for a long-term career? What kind of officer /branch is considered the most disiplined/elite? For a political position, what military branch looks best on you? What are key differences between these branches as an officer?

Pointless to debate which is more "prestigious" . The top ranks in all branches, surely earn their positions of power and command, thru decades of sacrifice and hard work.
Being Navy, myself......I Always thought it must be nice to be an Admiral.
1: actually, a small percentage of any branch will be allowed to stay in a full 20 years. most will be forced out by O4-O5 due to high year temure because they are never selected by the Board to promote.
2: all of them are expected to maintain the highest standards at all times.
3: totally irrelevant. the two are mutually exclusive.
4: anyone who cannot be bothered to do their own research on the myriad of public access websites and speaking to actual officers, is not officer material.
I will say this: most officers come in via the Service Academies and ROTC. so if you are not already accepted into either program already, then you have almost no hope at commission outside of Marine PLC( which is almost as tough to get as Marine Option NROTC)
