My Flash was always complaining that it was out of date. by mistake I downloaded flash but it installed McAfee without asking me. McAfee bothers me every time I start the computer. Each time I have to close it. I want to get rid of this unwanted guest. How can I?

Go to add remove programs (programs and features in windows 7, 8 and 10) and uninstall it.
When you next go to Adobe for flash or reader...look at the download page. The bit in the middle is where you need to uncheck to prevent McAfee from installing.

Just like Microsoft, Adobe assume you want all the garbage they can throw at you and you have to tread carefully to make sure you get just what you really want. Obviously, you did not read the small print when you did the download. (See the image below.)
If you have System Restore enabled, go back to the last restore point before you did the download. Otherwise go to the Program and Features and uninstall the McAfee garbage.
