Been thinking of divorce since nothing seems to change. .he denies he hurt me..?

Question

My husband stays in the living room for hours watches tv full blast so I just go to the other room.., he has a temper and refuses to get help. The other day it escalated and he pulled my hair after an argument I walked away he got upset that  I told him he needs to help with chores around the house since all he does is watch tv at home after work and all weekend long.

I almost called police bevause i was shocked he got physical but he would lose his medical license if he went to jail.

The worse part is he denied it ever happened the next day ,hes acting like it didn't happen and continues to sit down with the tv full blast like its a normal day. Should i report what he did to police and get a restraining order even though I cant afford to pay the mortgage alone if he goes to jail my son and I depend on him, or file for divorce and risk him making the divorce without reporting the abuse ?

I obviously condemn his violent behavior ..having said this ..Is he the only one working  ? If so, isn't fair if he comes home from work and spends his free time relaxing ? I would be saying the same thing if you were the one working and he stayed at home...in such case you should come home from work and just relax ..

Either way, if this was the first he hurt you then I can't help but think that your reaction is out of proportion..Why would you end your marriage just because a sad mistake he made ? Hasn't he forgiven you in the past ? My guess is that you aren't perfect ...Also , maybe he really doesn't remember having hurt you ..Maybe he was so  much into his tv show that he totally forgot about having pulled your hair ..

Maybe I'm just trying to find ways to justify your husband...It's just that I don't like divorces.. Marriage should be a serious lifetime commitment ..Furthermore statistics show that children benefit when they are raised by both biological parents living under the same roof and married to each other .

Even though I understand why you feel hurt at the same time I would like to ask you to please consider forgiving your husband.. especially if this was the first time he hurt you.
