Is this ideal a man or a God?
If it's a man, then you need to follow your own moral compas if this human is telling you to do or believe things that you believe are wrong.
If it's a God, you might want to look again at how you get the information. Your conduit might be wrong.
If a person you know was guiding or mentoring you, and now they're telling you to do wrong things, tell them that you appreciate the guidance they have given you, but on this one thing you need to use your own judgement. If they are a true mentor, they will come away proud that you can now choose for yourself.
