Most people who ask this question have at least two steps to get through FIRST before there can be any discussion about the existence of God.
1. You have to know what kind of evidence would count as "proof." For example, to some, green trees and the birds and the bees prove the existence of a God. To others, the word of the Bible is sufficient proof. That doesn't cut it for others. The lack of agreement on this first area REALLY stunts the possibility for a constructive discussion on this topic in the first place.
2. The other side of the coin - you have to know what would count as DISproof (or those things that would argue AGAINST the existence of God). An example - some people take the existence of pain and injustice to be proof that God does not exist. Again, for others, that just doesn't cut it.
Most people don't think about those two steps before asking this question. All it leaves everyone with (both the pro and the con side) is a lot of frustration, a lot of miscommunication, and absolutely no minds changed.

If God appeared to you, I think you would be pretty convinced of His existence. However, I think it's merciful that He doesn't appear personally to most people, because if we KNEW like that that He existed but then broke His commandments we could be subject to terrible consequences. It's nicer on us if we only transgress against a God we have faith in rather than a God who has manifested Himself in person to us.
Nevertheless, I believe that there is plenty of evidence that there is a God. If you sincerely want to know, you can pray to Him and He will let you know that He is real.

NO, its not and using the bible as an example does'nt cut it! MAN wrote the bible EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES. YOU CAN NOT guareentee GOD told them what to write or that there is even a god. Dont ask then how did we exist b/c if someone knew then they would be rich as hell. GOD existence is purely somes opinion.
