What is the most important room in your house or apartment?

This is a variation of a question that was asked here. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Am4gX...

I believe there is a line between "favorite" and "most important". I let it up to you to define that line. When you answer, I'd like to know how old you are and if you are male or female. If you can also why you make your choice, that would be great.

I'm an architecture student and this will help me a lot. Thank you.

Background: married 10 years, 3 children, own a 2400 sq ft. chalette style home.

The main area of my home is one big great area. There is a loft where we have a gameroom upstairs and you can see from the livingroom/dining/kitchen downstairs area. Very high ceilings. I believe this main area is the most important because it allows our family to interact with each other while doing other things in the house. I could be in the livingroom sitting and I can look upstairs and watch my kids play pool or darts.

The house may be big, but the way it is set up doesnt separate the family. That is the most important "area" in my home.

Most important/favorite room in my house is my kitchen - yes, they are the same for me.

I've always said that if I ever had the opportunity to design a house from scratch, it would be a fabulous kitchen, with some bedrooms and stuff stuck on around it! *g*

I'm female, married and 34 btw

In my house (not my room of someone else's house), right?

In my house, the most important room is the bathroom.

You can reproduce the kitchen anywhere (plug in a hotplate). You can make anywhere a bedroom (sleeping bag and pillow).

Only one place has a toilet!

Thus, the bathroom is the most important room.

I have to say that in each kind of culture you can have different answer... As I am an eastern citizen and almost our women spending time in kitchen and living room, I have to say living room and kitchen. But may be in another culture you take another answers. And you can note to their sex. Female and male have different answers, too.

By the way, My exact answer is living room.

The most important room is the john. If anyone puts another room above that, they are very unsanitary.
