What does burning skin smell like?

I need this info for a book...

And, people accidently burn themselves...maybe I'll go elsewhere...I know places that are slightly more helpful to writers with weird questions...

Chicken just smells like cooking chicken...Honestly, I need an answer from someone who has accidently burned themselves...

    Go with what you know. Get a fresh chicken, pull the skin and burn a chunk of it with a lighter. That shouldn't be too far off.
