Does man reall have free will?

There is a Jewish saying (not quoting word for word)

All is in the Hands of G-D except for Fear of G-D

meaning that G-D decides wether one will be rich, pretty, smart... however it is up to us to choose good over bad. To do right or wrong is in our hands.

This is a very large question. Some might say we have free will, but then there are so many things inherent in being a person that decide things for you. For instance, you must sleep, you must breathe and eat. There are less obvious things too. Most poeple try to be social. While we may feel like we are making our own decisions they are often controlled by those around us (society, family, peers).

Does it count as free will if you dont do something because you fear repercussion?

Yes of course and Im not telling this because Im a pastor. Just think about it: if you have no free will can you ask this question? :) Have you see the film Bruce almighty? There are many simple answers for church-dogmatized questions.

I was going to give a smart S answer but then I thought no I shouldn't so there it proves that man has free will because I had free will to give a smart S answer but I didn't.

Yes. We all have free will. Some people object to this by saying that we cant have free will because God is all-knowing. Just because he knows what we will do dosent mean he wont allow us to do it.

Sure. You have the free will to do anything you want, but there are also consequences that come with your actions. For example, you have the free will to kill someone, but then you'll go to jail.
