Do humans only have five senses, or do we have more?

We all know the basic five senses (sight, hearing, taste, touch, smell). But do humans have more than five senses? Do we have six senses or more? Before answering "no, only five", close your eyes, turn off the TV or radio, and think about what else you sense.

Update:

I can tell by the way people are answering this, they aren't doing what I asked. They are typing before they are thinking. There isn't anything magical, mystical, or limited to a select few about this question. I think how we are educated is incorrect. Someone the other day told me we had 6, not the traditional 5. And after thinking about it, there may be more.

Update 2:

Wikipedia says there are at least *9* agreed upon senses. At the moment I type this, I am cold -- the sense of temperature isn't one of the classical senses but should be.

In addition to the classical 5 senses we can sense temperature, pain and equilibrium (balance). We also have coutless other senses which work subconsciously to keep us alive (water, sugar, salt balance).

We have more than 5 - but 5 is the "normal"

number that any of us have, or rather are aware of. It' skinda like the speed limit. It's not there for seasoned drivers, who can handle their car at hgher speeds. When you see a speed limit, it is the fastest that ANY MORON with a license can safely drive. Most people can perceive 5 senses. Others can go further.

Some blind people have the ability to sense the presence of something before them. I've heard that everyone has that sense, but we just don't need as much as a blind person does, so we do not develop it very well.

In Indian Philosophy, we have 6 senses, the 5 you mention, as well as mind.

When we die we lose all our senses but another sense is added that is not physical. We go to live in a different place. Some people will say that they can communicate with it. They are called Spiritualists and they can tell you things that only you can tell if they are true. Why listen to others experiences when you can experience your own?

People who have five senses are normal. Some may have 6th sense. But that doesn't mean people with 6th sense are abnormal. They are just extraordinary. ^_^
