How do you spell OK?

And its not quite as dumb a question as it sounds. There are several correct ways to spell OK, and I find that I don't spell it consistently. I will generally use: okay or Ok, and ocassionally OK. And then there is also O.K., and a variant I have never seen in actual use: okeh.

So what is your way to spell OK?

It should normally only be used in a direct quote. It should be written as OK or O.K.; okay is not an official word, it is just the phonetic pronunciation of OK. The exact origins of the term 'OK' are not known for sure, and there are several theories about it. One theory says that 'OK' is a purposeful misspelling of the acronym for 'All Correct', but there are many other theories. In correct English the term is 'all right'.

I am learning how to use the work OK, which seems to be the preferred method of spelling, but usually I write it as okay. My reference books all say the O.K. is currently in disfavor.

The word is typical for Americans, a shortened form of Oll Korrect, with both words misspelled.

    Okay...abbreviated Ok.

    OK

Nowadays, the trend in abbreviation is to eliminate the periods.

The trend started with the increase in the use of corporate and bureaucratic abbreviations like IBM, OSHA, IRS.

    Okay already!

I prefer a Ned Flanders "OKELY DOKELY" though.

I usually just abbreviate it as "OK" ... sometimes use the entire work "okay" ...

Fun fact: Did you know that there is an Okay, OK?? :)

Okay. If I want to abbreviate it, I use OK.
