I once had an entire load of my children's clothes come out of the dryer with red crayon stains on everything. I thought the whole load was ruined. Liquid Tide w/Bleach Alternative saved me. I applied it directly to each crayon stain and rewashed the load. A few of the stains were stubborn and took several washes, but I eventually got all the stains out.

I did intend to tell you about using an iron to get it out.....lol.
Put a couple cotton diapers (if you have them they are SO absorbant) or a couple paper towels on each side and then press with an iron set to appropriate heat setting.
Repeat until you feel you got as much as you can get. I doubt you will get it all out, and it may stain, but you may be able to mix some kind of oil with the stain while it's hot and then scrub the rest out by hand.

I think if you cover it with wax paper and iron it the crayon will stick to the paper and come off the blankie.
