why dont animals go to heaven???

"All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to the dust again. Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth" (Ecclesiastes 3:20-21).

"then the dust shall return to the earth as it was, and the spirit shall return to God who gave it" (Ecclesiastes 12:7).

OK, the general concensus has been they have no souls, but why does that matter? I'll tell you. The real joy of heaven is the Beatific Vision. In this state, we are able to see God face-to-face. This vision so overwhelms our senses and fulfills our quest in life (speaking Christianly here). So, we are completely content in this vision, we need nothing else, no food, etc., just God. This concept seems quite ridiculous in some respects, but that is only because of our inability to really begin (I mean REALLY begin) to fathom the mystery of God. As to animals, most people believe that animals have no souls. Also, philosophically speaking, they lack the human powers of "the soul," especially contemplation. The dog is driven to chase the squirrel and he will try and catch that squirrel and eat it if he catches it. The dog never stops to think of any over-arching purpose for his life or whether he should befriend the squirrel, etc., he just eats, sleeps, eliminates, and copulates with little thought. He is driven (yes, it's OK to think of Freud, Virginia) by desires for the aforementioned things. Seeing God would mean nothing to the God or the animal, because it wouldn't be able to contemplate His Mystery, Majesty, etc. Now, I have heard it argued that animals make us happy, heven is a state of happiness, so they're MUST be animals. The problem is that this conception of heaven relies too heavily on material pleasure OUTSIDE of the pleasure emanating from the majesty of God. The Beatific Vision is meant to fulfill us completely, kind of like that Psalm about running and never growing weary, etc. The vision of God's glory will make us so over-whelmingly joyful in a way that shows how far less anything we call "joy" on this earth is.

Who said they don't go to heaven? I think that since God made them - there is probably an animal heaven. Hopefully it's right up there with us so that everyone will be reunited with their beloved pets and.....all the abused animals will have a better after life than this one. Every pet needs to know and feel loved.

alright, animals are said to have no soul. But my beleif is that your heaven will be completely different than mine. Heaven is a vision more than our eyes can see or hearts can imagine. If in Heaven you have your pets, loved ones, mounds of chocolate, a bright light of glory, or even the everyday life you have now that is exactly what it will be. If your animals are your heaven then when you get there you can introduce all of them to Jesus. I can only imagine

Well I'm not sure if they do or not but i am more concerned about My family and friends going to heaven if the animals are there that's a bonus. God Bless!!

Who says? The Bible speaks of animals in heaven, i have always assumed they would be there with people.

Heaven is no place for animals. Just be glad that someday... God is gonna give us a new earth and new sets of animals that will never die.

but human, if we put a baby in a bad family, it is posible his character will be bad too when he grows up.

Because heaven is a human invention. Animals proably have their own, EG. where humans are the servants to dogs.. we have to feed them, pet them and pick up their doo... wait.. thats the earth now!

they have no soul. it's not the physical being that goes to heaven or hell, but the soul of the person. humans are the only creatures with a soul. we were "created in god's image" and no other creature was - that's why we can have life after death.
